TERMS OF USE

 

GROOMING / BORADING DISCLAIMER

 

Pets are accepted for grooming only under the following circumstances....

  • The pet is fit and healthy, Grooming which takes place on an elderly or infirm pet will be at the owner's risk. Grooming may expose pre-existing health\skin conditions for which Love That Dog And Cat LLC cannot be held liable.

  • The pet's rabies vaccine is up to date (as required by law) unless otherwise discussed.

  • In the event of an emergency, in your absence, you authorize Love That Dog And Cat LLC to contact the nearest Veterinarian and authorize the Vet to treat the pet as necessary at your expense. 

  • Payment is to be made at the time of service. Payment can be cash, check or credit card. Returned checks will incur a $35 charge. Our rates are based on the breed of the pet and duration of the groom. Nail cutting and ear cleaning are part of the service unless the process is too stressful for the pet or too dangerous for the groomer. 

  • We do NOT offer anal gland expression, as this should be performed by a licensed veterinarian. 

  • “De-matting" or complete coat removal will dramatically alter your pet's appearance. This procedure may expose pre-existing health\skin problems for which Love That Dog And Cat LLC cannot be held liable. 

1. Cancellations

We try to work as long as conditions are not dangerous. If you are unsure, please call us to confirm.

  • Cancellation and rescheduling of an appointment, by the client, requires 48 hours notice to waive the FULL appointment fee.

  • In the event of inclimate weather, a family emergency or any other uncontrollable circumstance, the groomer has the discretion to waive the fee within the 48 hour period.

  • We reserve the right to cancel or reschedule a groom if we feel the need to do so. Every effort will be made to reschedule at a time convenient for both the client and the groomer.    

2. No-Shows

It is considered a "no-show" when the client is not available at the scheduled appointment time and does not contact the groomer to cancel or reschedule.

  • We reserve the right to charge the FULL grooming fee due to the loss of revenue caused by a "no-show". Please make every effort to call and cancel or reschedule when possible to avoid such situations.

  • We reserve the right to refuse service to any pet or client for any reason.

Appointment Times

Our Scheduled appointments are an estimate time of arrival. We require a 2 hour window of arrival of appointment time to allow for flexibility for dogs needing more time, allowing for time traveling between appointments and traffic. If the event of running behind on schedule Love That Dog And Cat LLC will let you know 15 min before the scheduled appointment.

An Eta will be sent out when we are on our way and in route.

We require to have a current card on file.

Latch key service

A key , code or key padlock can be arranged for owner to not be home. Please keep bedrooms closed , kenneled or in a room easy to be accessible. Recommended for after client and dogs are at ease after a couple appointments

During First few appointments I do require owners to be home during the whole service

We are here to serve you and we appreciate the trust you put in us to take care of your pet.

Aggressive Behavior

You are required to inform us of any previous aggressive behavior your pet has shown, especially if they have previously bitten a prior groomer, veterinary staff, or other person. In the event your pet demonstrates aggressive behavior, you may be subject to an additional Aggressive Pet Fee or Love That Dog And Cat LLC may cancel or end the groom before the requested services are completed. These pets require greater care and attention and the length of time to groom your pet may fluctuate. The Aggressive Pet Fee may vary depending on the care needed to groom your pet and the level of aggression your pet demonstrates.

Love That Dog And Cat LLC does not work with dogs that exhibits aggression during the groom process, grooming will be halted and will be charged for the full service . Dogs with aggression ( reactive, snapping , growling , lunging will be best groomed at a vet sedated or a groomer specializing in behavioral issues) As I do not have an assistant to help assist me aswell as I want the best situation for the individual dog.

Occasional muzzling for nails or drying as long as the muzzle is safely staying on and the dog has no health issues , grooming can be continued .
If dogs can not be muzzled safely then Love That Dog And Cat LLC has the right to refuse service and make a recommendation else where .

 

Flea & Tick Policy

We recommend keeping your pet on a flea and tick preventative as recommended by your veterinarian. If your pet is found to have fleas, ticks or parasites when we arrive, your appointment will be cancelled and a cancellation fee will be charged. If live fleas are discovered after the bath or grooming process has already begun, a soothing bath will be given and an additional $75.00 fee will be charged as we must perform additional cleaning of our facilities and equipment to ensure safety for future client appointments. Love That Dog And Cat LLC does not provide flea and tick prevention services and it is your responsibility to keep your pet on a proper flea and tick prevention schedule.

Living in Southern California, Fleas live year around. With the right humidity & Temperature their eggs hath . Flea infestations can rapidly get out of control. That's because fleas lay eggs in such large numbers. At a rate of 40 to 50 per day for around 50 days, a single female flea can produce 2,000 eggs in her lifetime. Flea larvae burrow deep into fabrics, bedding and carpeting, so thorough, regular vacuuming and cleaning of your pet's bedding (in very hot water) is recommended

If dogs are Itching at the base of tail, groin , and scratching back of head is signs of a flea host.

Humanity over Vanity.

When dogs are matted it causes them great discomfort with grooming. It actually makes an negative impact on them, you want them to enjoy to be groomed as it is apart of life. Because of that, I will only De-matt a dog with reasonable amount of matting. Shaving down and starting over is the most humane for matted coats.

Please note:

Dogs who are in conditions less than ideal , what normally would be expected in a 4-8 week schedule with minimal knots, should expect grooming Prices could be almost double to triple depending on severity. If I cannot safely remove extreme matting if the dog is not reacting positively grooming , Services will be halted or referred to a vet sedated groom to remove the matting humanely. As it does hurt the dogs when matting is extremely tight in Pelted & Incased conditions.

Refusal of Service

We reserve the right to refuse any service at any time. If we are unable to handle your pet safely or your pet becomes too stressed we may refuse, stop or cancel service at any time. A fee may still be required for any services or partial services performed.

Hair Matting: Dogs with matted coats require extra care and attention. Matted hair restricts air circulation and can cause a variety of skin issues like irritation, hot spots, excessive itching and parasite infestation. These issues may remain hidden during the initial assessment of your dog and mat removal may expose pre-existing irritation, cuts or sores hidden underneath the matted hair for which we will not be liable. Mat removal may result in shorter than expected haircuts, hair loss, hair patchiness and an unattractive or unfinished appearance. The removal of mats increases the risk of nicks, cuts or abrasions and may leave your dog’s skin irritated. Shaving can dramatically change your dog’s appearance and hair will be very close to the skin. Previously agreed upon grooming styles might not be possible due to health or coat conditions. You will still be responsible for payment for any services that are completed regardless of previously discussed styles. Severe matting and/or pelting will result in additional surcharges, depending on the severity of the problem and the time required to correct it. Senior Age and/or Health-Compromised Dogs can experience stress during a grooming appointment simply by being outside of its home. Any grooming that takes place on a senior dog or a dog with health problems will be at the owner’s risk. Grooming may expose a pre-existing health and/or skin problem for which we will not be liable. Elderly or health-compromised dogs are also at a higher risk for nicks, cuts and skin irritation from grooming due to the increased fragility and sensitivity of their skin. Further, elderly dogs can be more susceptible to dehydration, which decreases skin elasticity and can cause additional health issues. Certain illnesses and conditions including, but not limited to, diabetes, heart murmur, hypertrophic cardiomyopathy, seizures and being overweight result in a higher risk of incident during grooming appointments.
